Teófilo Reyes
Teófilo Reyes was a visionary, a man who divined the future of a region and its maximum exponent, a player who bet everything on a single card: quality and excellence.
Since 1950 when he founded the first modern winery together with 18 associated growers in La Horra (Valladolid) until the culmination of his work with his own cellar, more than 40 years will pass in search of the best wine that the Ribera del Duero could give.
What started as a small project is today a winery of 3000 m2 that will be expanded to 4000 m2 located in the heart of Ribera del Duero: Peñafiel. The winery is accompanied by 40 hectares of own vineyard and another part controlled by our field technicians with 925 meters above the sea level and whose main variety is tempranillo.
Recently the project Teofilo Reyes has added the support of the Zuazo Gaston family, contributing in turn more decades of experience in the other great denomination of Spain.
The bet is to achieve an optimal quality in a limited elaboration. Scarce grape yields and selection both in the vineyard and in the winery to get their wines back on the path of success, as did Teofilo Reyes. Currently, we sell Teofilo Roble as a wine of short aging and Teofilo Reyes crianza and reserve with 16 and 24 months in aging of French oak.
